So another year and a new graduating class. Graduate Fashion Week was looking to be an exciting year for my university as they were up for four awards. I volunteered this year to help out front of house at our fashion show so I got a good opportunity to have a look around the venue and see the competition!
As you can see our stand (below) was quite special, it was designed by Lauren Burt with architecture in mind to create an experience for people visiting the stand, it definitely showcases the work on display in a creative manner; as a result our stand is up for 'The Best Stand' award. I want to apologise for the yellow photographs...the lighting in Earls Court 2 wasn't the best...
(Update: We won 'The Best Stand Award'!)
Above is the work of Jessica Dance a AUCB student who has achieved quick success with her quirky accessories collection currently being sold in Selfridges. Jessica has been shortlisted for 'The Mulberry Accessories' award and 'The Creative Marketing' award which is very exciting so I wish her the best of luck. Tinie Tempah appeared on the stage to promote his new singles and sang a few other songs which was a nice surprise. After looking back at the photos I noticed that his jacket is reminiscent of a 90 year olds; covered in pictures of cats and dogs...a slight change from rappers usually emblazoned designer wear.
(Update: Jessica won 'The Creative Marketing' awards and AUCB student Ellie Mountfort won 'The Portfolio Award' congratulations to all!)
