Issa London S/S 11

The Issa London show was a gorgeous array of vibrant colours, you could clearly see the inspiration that she got for India and the traditional Sari dress.  I could also see this reflected in the intricate draping with clever ways to also make the garment more fitted with waist detailing.  The collection was one of my favourite for London Fashion Week from the gorgeous colours to the bright colour palette that was consistent throughout the show.

Mark Fast S/S 11

Mark Fast is no doubt a very talented knitwear designer but I always fail to see how anybody can actually wear his garments unless one goes fully commando! None the less Fast always creates some interesting shapes.

Erdem S/S 11

When I say spring/summer fashion most people instantly think floral, but this season on the LFW catwalks I must admit that I was feeling a shortage of floral garments for next year.  Thankfully Erdem satisfied our floral needs with his in bloom collection.  I can see that he has incorporated the floucy skirts with his bright floral patterns for a springtime elegance.  I am especially loving the loose silk dresses with the slight sheerness for a subtle provocative look.  Erdem showed a perfect collection that will definitely brighten up our summer wardrobes.

David Koma S/S 11

Koma is known for creating unique silhouettes so in this collection he stayed true to this with his unusual take on classic shapes such as the ballerina tutu.  We can see how he played with the pleating on the large voluminous skirts; made more impacting with the interesting block black and white detail.  Interesting geometric patterns also showed on some of his dresses.  I loved his finale pieces; the black leather mini dress with the leather skirt show a feminine edgy look and the metal detailed cut out mini.  I cannot wait to see who will be wearing these cool garments.

LFW Mulberry S/S 11 Secret Garden

The Mulberry show proved to be a feast for the fashion eyes with a stunning collection featuring prints and feminine silhouettes.  A variety of skirt and dress lengths from knee length to mid calf looked flattering with thin waist cinching belts - this proved to be the shape for next S/S.  I thought the consistent red headed models walking through the garden themed catwalk was a clever touch that gave the show a more earthy feel.  The pastel hints of lavender should prove to be a big hit in S/S 11 but I especially fell in love with all the sumptuous leather accessories like the suede booties in beige, maroon and lavender.  I think this collection will be a big hit with Mulberry fans but also the growing fan base in America.  Another successful collection for the brand.

LFW Antonio Berardi S/S 11

Berardi has a talent of creating simple and elegant designs that look so effortless.  His colours are simple with a palette of white, grey, bright pink and pastels with the gorgeous silhouettes.  I love the thigh high slashed finale dresses dressed down with the casual jacket thrown over them, for a more understated glamour.  He showed a lot of deep slashed garments on the bust but mixed with the miniature flower like detail on the dresses, this gave the collection a more feminine feel with Berardi's attention to superb tailoring.

LFW Matthew Williamson S/S 11

Although the Matthew Williamson didn't really astound me this season he does know how to design the perfect summer dress.  I love the print on the two silk dresses below with the gorgeous colours; a perfect luxe summer look.

LFW Felder Felder S/S 11

When I saw the Felder Felder collection I fell in love.  The colour scheme was a perfect mix of blacks, colbat blue, pink, grey and gold.  I picked my favourite looks from the show; as you can see I included a lot of the colbat blue (my favourite colour) The colour just gave a cool edge to the pieces.  The customised leather tops, skirts and trousers were just an ingenious way of incorporating a design of a graphic reptile print; we could also see this in the silk blouses which made for a consistent collection.
Absolute perfection...

NYFW Oscar de la Renta RTW S/S11

With New York fashion week over and London Fashion Week having started today it's time to look back over some of the fabulous collections we have seen so far.  Oscar de la Renta was one of my favourites of NYFW for gorgeous gowns that I can definitely see adorning the backs of celebrities at the upcoming award ceremonies.  There was plenty of elegant shapes with longer hemlines and cinched waists and well as feminine frills and bows.  The colour palette consisted of pastels as well as bright pops of blue and red but black also heavily featured in this collection in the accessories as well as the stunning finale gowns, Renta used tulle to create exaggerated shapes for some added drama as well.  Overall he showed a very flirty, feminine collection that mixed with the modern influences such as tailored jackets - this collection is perfect for the S/S11 season.
